Infinito is investing $4 billion in solar projects in India, where it says it expects a “major growth opportunity” in solar power.
The company said it will invest in solar plants in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Infinita said its solar plant in Tamilnai would create 1,000 jobs.
Infinititi says the solar project will cost between $3 billion and $5 billion.
The company is one of the largest solar energy providers in the world and has been working on solar projects since 2009.
Infinti has already invested in India and is expected to invest $2.4 billion.
India’s Solar Alliance has called for solar installations in India to be at least 30 per cent of India’s total power consumption by 2025.
