The Jeep Cherokee lease sale could be the first of its kind in the US.
The new dealership, which will be located in the Atlanta suburb of Clayton, will reportedly open as early as this fall.
Jeep will be selling the Cherokee to leasing customers in Georgia.
The lease sale is expected to be the biggest single purchase in the state’s history.
The dealership will be one of three in Georgia, along with the other two, and will be the second to be sold to an independent company.
The Cherokee will not be offered in the South.
A dealership spokesperson told TechRadars: “Jeep Cherokee has the largest market share in the U.S. and we expect it to remain the largest vehicle of choice in the market.”
Jeep currently has a loyal following in the United States and abroad, but it has struggled to break into the luxury segment.
In 2018, Jeep sold just over 6.5 million vehicles in the entire country.
